My Other Half

Each day as we lay down to sleep, I think I can feel no greater love for her. And each night I awake to find that I love her more. She is my breath. My life. My other half.

Nighttime

By the time I return from feeding, Anders has gone. And I know that Dafyd has retired as his eveningtime candle has already been doused. The full moon hanging sad and lonely just above the line of the trees. The crickets and frogs lending their song to the peaceful scene. I sit beneath his window for a while. Just to be near him and to listen as the soft rumble of his snores plays counter-melody to the gentle thrum of nature.

The Vampire, Elizaveta

This one. I am utterly drawn to this one. And it is not from his pails that I seek drink. The sweat from his labors tickles my nose. So close! The strong vein at his throat pulsing a hypnotic beat. I breathe him into my body and my tongue and teeth can already imagine the sweet puncture of skin.

This is who I picture every time I write Dafyd.

I didn't coin the phrase, but "This man makes my teeth sweat!"

Passion!

“Elizaveta. Bethan. I am Dafyd. Your husband. My soul belongs to you. As you belong to me. As we have always belonged together.” All of this. Murmured into her mind. Begging her to remember me. To remember us. To remember our time together. Kissing her sweet face. Touching her soft hair. Speaking her name. While my body screams for its release. “Bethan.”

Elizaveta: Holding his head against me, I am caught in the sweetness of his touches. I don’t know what I’d been thinking. Feeling the frantic need. The desperate wanting. His softness and gentleness are just right. I push his hair back so I can gaze into his unwavering blue eyes. And am shocked to see the thin red trickle of his tear. Capturing it with one finger, I unthinkingly bring that tear to my lips.

Dafyd: Caught in the emotion and need of the moment, I did not realize her action until it was done. Her body and soul acting on centuries-old habit and instinct. In an act of intimacy and passion, she had tasted my blood. “The blood is never to be wasted.” How many times she had told me that. And now, serving to remind me of our time together. Sharing our bodies – sharing our blood. That solitary act of binding. It is all I can do to not complete the circuit. My fangs perfectly itch with the need to taste her.

That's the tale of Waiting. Follow the travels & trials of Dafyd as he seeks to reunite with his love, Elizaveta, his Bethan.

Daere verch Gwalchmei de Rudemai

Daere is Dafyd's intended. His betrothed. She is a handsome and proper woman who is confident of their arranged marriage. It will align their two families in business; but more importantly, it will set her up quite comfortably, as she is getting on in age, at 24.

Elizaveta uxor Dafyd

Elizaveta is the heroine of Waiting. She was born in Russia around the turn of the 14th century. Trained in wood working, she learned early how to fend for herself. She's a beauty - long curly red hair and striking green eyes and pale, pale skin.

Dafyd filial Annan

Dafyd is the main character in my current work in progress, Waiting - If true love lasts forever and one of them dies, then what? He was born in Maughan, South Wales, at the beginning of the 14th century. And, of course, he's a hard worker, smart and dreadfully handsome!

Introduction

Welcome to my blog! Bear with me because I'm really new at this. But I'm hoping this will show you enough about me and my writing that you'll be ready to snatch up the book once it's finished. :) I will be telling you things about the characters. And posting snippets that I'm particularly proud of. So keep watch, right here! :) I am currently working on my first book, Waiting - If true love lasts forever and one of them dies, then what? And am plotting the two that will be asides to it. Watching - Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And, Wanting - Wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first. Of course, those are all tentative.......;)
